Riley B. King, better known as BB King, was a war veteran of WWII who made a name for himself in the music industry. The musician cut his first record in 1949 and spent the next several decades touring and recording. He played more than 300 shows per year, performing and making music with many other musicians. He is best known for his consolidation of blues styles and a leader for rock guitarists all over the world. His success in his style of music earned him the nickname "king of the blues". King played about 250 shows per year well into his 70s. He won many grammys in his lifetime for various accomplishments. In 2014, during a show, King collapsed on stage and cancelled his upcoming shows. While in hospice care, in may 2015, BB King died in his sleep.
