Well taking photos are not as easy as it look. With a little bit of practice and key points to focus on, your pictures will come out looking professional and fun.
Take photos at an eye level angle for more engaging photos. Capturing the eye contact in a photo is much more personal and inviting.
When taking photos, remember to focus on the subject. By having a plain background you avoid unwanted distractions from the subject.
Some think to only use flash in a dark environment. Using flash even on a sunny day is beneficial to eliminating the shadows and adding brightness to the face. There are different flash settings to use in different scenarios. Be mindful of what image you are attempting to capture when deciding to use a full-flash or a fill-flash setting.
When taking photos of a subject smaller than a car, step closer before taking the picture and zoom. Fill the frame with the subject as much as possible and pay attention to capturing the fine details.
To bring your photos to life, capture the whole scene by moving your subject away from the center of the frame. If your subject is not in the center of the frame, remember to lock your focus or it will come out blurry. To lock the focus, center the subject then press and hold halfway down. Then reposition your camera to move the subject away from the middle. Finish by pressing the shutter button all the way down and taking the final shot.
When taking photos that require you to use flash, keep in mind your flash’s range. Make sure your subject is no more than your subject.
Pay close attention to lighting and the way it illuminates certain subjects. If you have to, adjust both yourself and your subject to get the best angle of lighting that fits the subject.
Instead of taking all horizontal photos, dont be afraid to switch up and take vertical photos. It can help better capture the image so the photo is ultimately focused on the subject rather than distractions a horizontal picture can capture.
Lastly, be a photo director. Take charge of your subjects and position them in fun different poses. Add props and give your subjects direction.
